Smoking in my country

Smoking is a common situation in my country. Smoking is really unhealthy for us, and if people smoke their family members will smoke the secondhand smoke. In my country, people pf different ages are smoking. The serious is the teenagers who smoke. Smoking always accruee I high school students and middle school students. When they smoke,they hide from their parents and their teacher. if a teacher knows their students smoke, they will give their students punishment. or visit their student's parents. This is a typical problem in my country. However, the government has already limited smoking in public; they give an area for people to smoke. Now generally people have begun to pay attention to their health, and some people want to quit smoking in my country.

Smoking

The smoking rate is going up in China, both men and women. Most of them start smoking in school. They start smoking for some reasons. However, most of them smoking because of their unsatisfying life. When they don't succeed on work, they want to smoke to avoid the unsuccessful things. When they feel stressful, they want to smoke to get relaxed. Most of them start smoking when they see their friends smoking because it's hard to resist going with the crowed. And there are some people that want to get attention from others, so thy start smoking. These reasons make the smoking rate go up.

Smoking is big issue in China; more and more people smoke. It's more popular for women recently. Several years ago smoking was a men's thing, but now it is not just a men's thing, there are more and more women joining the smoking group. I think it's caused by the society we live in; women get the same stress as men, so smoking is one of the ways to reduce stress. There are many advertisements that showed smoking is bad for health, but they don't work well. Also there are many products to help smokers cut smoking, and many people tried them but they don't work, or it seems to work at the beginning but smokers will return to smoking soon. people tried to quit smoking by eating candy and chocolate when they feel they want to smoke and many other things. People know smoking is bad for themselves and for other people who don't smoke. Especially for children, it plays an important role. So there are rules that people can't smoke in public places.

How Smoking Threatens Your Life

Well, smoking in Saudi Arabia is just for men, but some women smoke secretly. Everybody knows that smoking is unhealthy. Also, they know that smoking causes cancer, but people do not care about it. Some kids start smoking in Saudi Arabia, and nobody knows about them, even their parents. Parents should be strict on their kids and watch them all the time. Some kids in the United States are the same; they are smoking secretly. People in Saudi Arabia and in the United States are smoking just because it is relaxing and enjoying. The problem is smoking can cause a lot of diseases such as cancer, asthma, and heart attack. People should be careful when they want to smoke, and they should smoke once a while. So, smoking kills and people should quit smoking if they want to get healthy. When people smoke that means they are suicidal.

The Causes of Smoking

Everyone knows that smoking is not good for our body, and it may cause many diseases like cancer, heart disease and ulcers. In Saudi Arabia, men smoke more than women because it is difficult for women to go out from the house. There are many reasons that people smoke. First, some people smoke because they have stress in their lives and they think if they smoke they will relieve the stress. Second, some people smoke to kill the time and enjoy their lives, but it is wrong because they will kill themselves. Third, many people smoke because they walk with friends who smoke. Finally, smoking is a bad habit for you and people around you stop smoking because it is not good for your body.

I did the smoking ban survey one week ago. It was really an interesting experience. I have met a lot of people in SIU and I asked different friends to tell us about their opinions about smoking ban in general. Ifound that many people have different opinions. Some people are totally agree and support the new regulations of banning smoke in Illinois and they which if the government ban the smoke all over the country. opponents of smoking ban said they have the right to smoke and if the have the chance to vote they will vote against the new regulations.

It is the duty of governments to preserve the integrity of human by not providing what could harm the health.In addaition, governments all over the world know the danger of drug use, and the increasing of deaths among drug users. smoking is one of those thing that may harm the health. therefore, they shuold not only ban the smoke in public but the shuold stop the companies that produce the smoke. many people die every day because of smoke. We all know that sigarette contains Carbon Monoxide which can kill smokers in the long run. thus, all of us must go for smoking ban

Report about the Smoking Ban

First of all, my interview is about the Smoking Ban at PK's. The manager and the owner were there at the same time. They were very nice people and when i asked them that I was doing a survey, they responded automatically. So I asked them some few questions about what they feel about the smoking ban. When I was doing the interview, the owner left and directed me to his manager. They said,the smoking ban does not affect their business. They were complaining about the smoking ban since it has been into effect. I asked the manager if they are considering of building a place for the smokers in the bar and he said no, because Pk's does not run a lot of money and there is no room for it. So I understood that it is a small business. He also told me that restaurants should have different rules from bars because bars are more opened and they are for drinking. However, restaurant is for luxury and people do not really like to smoke in restaurants because they want to smell real food. Finally,the smoking ban does not have any effect on Pk's revenue and they are not happy about it.

In my opinion, i think that since the smoking ban has been in effect, many bars are complaining and it is really good because we need some kind of hygiene for our health. People should try to understand what is the benefit that they can have beside the smoking ban and how it can be really helpful to them. The smoking ban among different states in the United States can differ for bars. We can have many opinion from different people but the one that I got was about Pk's and I think Pk's is a very small place and the smoking ban will be better for them.

Smoking Ban is good or not?

My topic talks about smoking ban. My group wanted to know the opinion of people who smoke or not. In my idea,there are more and more people smoking, but the government knows that smoking is not good for health. Also a lot of people do not like people smoking in front of them so the government sets up the smoking ban. My group decided to do surveys for people. We made up questions for two sides of people and later we will compare the two groups. The questions were about what people think about the smoking ban and what do they think about smoking. Then, I went to Student Center to do my survey at my lunch time. People were kind and helped me to do the survey. My groups found the result is that many people have different opinions. There are four people who disagree with the smoking ban and fifteen people who agree with the smoking ban. Some people totally agree and support the new regulation of smoking ban in the U.S. Opponents of the smoking ban claim that smokers said they have rights to smoke and if they have the chance to vote, they will vote against the new regulations. In short, most people think the government should set up the smoking ban.


In my opinion, I am not a smoker so I do not like people smoking in front of me. I find that a lot of people smoke and they know that it is not good for health. However, they also want to smoke and they cannot stop smoking. It is like a habit for them. If they stop smoking, they will encounter some problems such as not thinking, feeling uncomfortable, having headache, or doing ineffective work. Although smokers cannot stop smoking, I agree with the government's establishing smoking ban. People have their rights. For example, smokers can smoke outside and non-smokers do not need to have second-hand smoking. This will be the best way for everyone.

Smoking Ban in Restaurant is a good regulation for human being

My group wanted to know opinions of restaurant and bar owners about smoking ban in restaurant. So, I went to the “Kahala” restaurant in Carbondale downtown after lunchtime because I need to interview. I asked the waiter for some food, and then I asked the owner for an interview. However, I was rejected in my interview because that restaurant was very busy, so I waited for the owner for my interview over 1 hour. Owner’s son gave an interview to me. He said, “I don’t care a bit about smoking ban because it doesn’t affect my restaurant”. He said to me that a more important thing is taste of food and clean area than smoking ban. In addition, he said that “my restaurant doesn’t have a special place for smokers and I don’t want to make a special place for smokers because I don’t smoke”. Finally, he claimed that smoking ban is a good rule because most people don’t like smoke and people want to eat and rest in a restaurant with a fresh air. However, he said that bars should have different rules from restaurants because bar is a merrymaking place. Therefore, he doesn’t care about the smoking ban, but he completely agrees with the smoking ban in public spaces.

In my opinion, owners in most restaurants are very busy, so I didn’t get a lot of time. In addition, we should make appointment for some interview in a restaurant. I’m a smoker so I don’t like the smoking ban; however, I also completely agree that we need the smoking ban in restaurants for people. Smoking ban in restaurants can make more human health and more fresh air. Therefore, I think that smoking ban in restaurant and public spaces is a good policy for human beings and our children.

smoking ban is fine for "Pizza Hut"

The restaurant I went to is "Pizza Hut". I went to there sit down and eat something and then I go to ask the manager.

He said he doesn't care about the smoking ban, because it doesn't affect the restaurant.He said usually people come here to take out pizza or they deliver pizza to customers.

Not really a lot of people come here to eat, even though there still are some people who eat there; if they want to smoke, the manager allows them to smoke. He doesn't care if people smoke in the restaurant or not. Therefore, he doesn't care about the smoking ban, because it doesn't affect the restaurant.

After that, in my opinion I think the smoking ban is good for the restaurant. People go there to eat delicious food and relax. I don't think when they are eating delicious food, they want to smell the smoking. For me I don't like that. I don't want when I am eating there to be a lot of people smoking around me. That will affect my mood, because i want to enjoy the good mood and delicious food the restaurant has. Therefore, I agree with the smoking ban.

Smoke rule needs to change something

Now it is illegal to smoke in the bar and restaurant in the Illinois. Now I am very interested in whether this rule will make people not like to go shopping. So I went to ask the manage to let me know the answers, went to ask a restaurant and a bar manager to find out what I want.
First, in restaurant: (Pizzahut)
The manager is a nice guy; he told me before the rule, he does not care if you smoke here, but he will make who smoke and nonsmoker sit in different places. He have some of friends come to have lunch; they said that not allowing smoke here is a bad idea. But the rule said it, nobody can change it. Customers still come here to have dinner or lunch; he thinks food is important and Americans have a lot of lazy people, they do not want to stay at home cook, so they come to here and pay to eat. So some smokers do not like this, but have no choice and some people say this is good for children and non-smokers; the second hand smoke will never happen. But at the end, he does not care if law says we cannot smoke in the restaurant, because he believes this rule will never make customers stop going to a restaurant.

In a Bar: (Forget name)
I asked some of people, including a manager; they said they can not believe Illinois has a rule that there is no smoking in the bar. They said, what is a bar? It is a club for people to have more fun here, so they need to smoke here. Bar is different with restaurant; it is for us to have fun here. So they cannot believe the Illinois government has this rule in a club. Bars and restaurants are different, so they hope they can change this rule in the bar.

I believe the ban on smoking in the restaurant is a good idea; it can make more people healthy, and the waiter will be healthy too, maybe they are not smokers, but they work there, so they have no choice. But I disagree with the ban on smoking in the bar; a bar is a club for people to have more fun, weekend people have parties and have rest in the bar, so they smoke there, but now it changed, and a lot of people do not like this rule and we hope government can think more and more and change this rule.

According to Dave Lopez many restaurants enjoyed new life since the smoking ban came into effect. Many restaurants reported their revenue increased since the smoking ban went into effect, but 600 violations were reported through out h state and most of the local restaurants claim that most of their customers followed the new law. For an example of smoking ban, The Longbranch Coffeehouse is the premier spot in Carbondale and many people thought that his business may suffer because of the new law but they were wrong, it has increased. The new law stated if customers want to smoke to go outside and smoke. Many restaurant owner's appreciate the new law because it makes their business grow and you can smell real food inside.

I think smoking ban is a good and safe for people because it can save hem from having cancer. Smoking ban in a restaurant can make the food much safer than before and help people be in good health. There is a good side of smoking ban and a bad side that people do not like, some people say they do not feel well smoking outside Show Me's where they work, according to Khatleen Kelly, a sophomore student at John A. Community College from DuQuoin. There is also some of the customers who want to take profit of the smoking ban to avoid paying for their food. So the smoking ban is a good thing that people enjoyed and it makes the place more comfortable to people because they can really smell good food, enjoy it and attract people because it is clean.
